flânarie is the act of strolling and flâneur is a French noun referring to a person, literally meaning "stroller." However, these terms have a connotation towards men, who stroll in the world and can do so inconspicuously. For to be a woman wanderer is a paradox.

In a world designed for driving (I don’t own a car and never have) and moving fast, we are bound to miss what is not directly in front of us.
