And what is more exquisite yet simple, in all its forms, than Black hair braided to the scalp? Encoding societal and cultural markers in three strands, braids are instrumental in connecting Black people to history, expression, and community.
Debuting at Hindsight Conference 2019, C O R N R O W S, is a research project reimagining the social fabric and building blocks of cities. The foundation of this project is based upon African traditions and systems, Black scholars, and of course Black braiders and the art they create and culture they maintain.
